LUNG CANCER ALLIANCE LAUNCHES HOMETOWN FACES OF LUNG CANCER

Campaign Targets Local and State Media Outlets

Your story and your photo can help change the public's attitude toward lung cancer and increase funding for research and early detection. Be part of Lung Cancer Alliance's HOMETOWN FACES OF LUNG CANCER campaign.

The first Hometown Faces of Lung Cancer ad in October 2008 ( launch ad for the campaign (.pdf)) featured LCA-MA advocate and lung cancer survivor, Kevin Brumett, a thirty year old never smoker diagnosed with late stage lung cancer a little over a year ago.  Since then patients around the country have started submitting their stories and their photos to their own local papers.

Here's how.

Send in your picture by mail (Lung Cancer Alliance, 888 16th Street NW, Suite 150 Washington DC 20006) or email  (info@lungcanceralliance.org) with the answers to the questions below and we will create your very own Hometown Faces of Lung Cancer ad which you can mail or email to your local paper (and LCA can help you with that too).

Questions to be answered:

Favorite Local Restaurant

Favorite Book

Favorite TV Show

Favorite Vacation Spot

Your Hero

Please also include the first name, age and city/town of the person which will be included in the ad.  We will send you back the completed ad along with a list of your local media contacts and help you get it placed.

Your story and your photo are THE most powerful weapons to change public attitudes toward lung cancer, spread awareness about the statistics and help build support for more funding and earlier detection.
